Brand Profile

This brand started in 1973 as a hair salon and set out to be a unique brand from the very beginning. London at this time with very much in love with synthetics. Enter stage left Molton Brown with a business plan of soft, individual and natural… with the main focus on Natural. To create their point of differentiation they, got rid of hair drying and tonging and brought in hand drying and a focus on hairstyles that were based around a client as an individual.

Molton Brown then stepped out into making its own hand mixed products from camomile and nettle. In 1978 Dale Daxon Bowers joined the team brought a new passion, creativity and a belief that new products should have a strong focus on being natural.

By the 1980s the  salon had evolved into emporium that offered plant-based makeup, hair, body, skin and grooming products to those people in the know. Today the business, still flows with the original passion and has expanded globally, supplying their products to 70 different countries.
